Creating a Water garden

Have you always appreciated water gardens in other people’s yards, but never knew how to get started? Then this presentation is for you! Water garden expert and Hohokus native, Al Salerno, will discuss how to choose the correct location and design for a variety of spaces and design choices. Koi fish and water plant care advice will also be discussed.

With an extensive background in ornamental pond design and maintenance, Al Salerno brings over four years of hands-on professional experience from Waterford Gardens in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. During his tenure, he honed his skills in plant propagation, greenhouse management, pond biofiltration systems, aquatic care, and the many nuances of pond layout and upkeep. As a passionate hobbyist, Mr. Salerno has raised Japanese koi and a variety of ornamental fish for more than seven years in a private home setting, while cultivating and maintaining diverse gardens and ponds over the years. Coming from a family deeply rooted in gardening—his father, Al Salerno Sr., was a longtime member of the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club—he is eager to share his wealth of expertise with you today.

This Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club event will take place at the usual location:

The Sycamore Community Church located at 32 Sycamore Ave., Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, 07423
